ACTIVITY: We always talk about books that WE want. Let’s turn it on its head. What books have you given other people lately?
I just donated a ton of books but I'll list some of them:
The entire Darkest Powers Trilogy by: Kelley Armstrong, The Uglies & The Pretties by: Scott Westerfield.
Some books I recently gave to my family members include: The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle, Choke by: Chuck Palahniuk, The Giver by: Lois Lowry, and City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by: Cassandra Clare. I wish that my family/friends enjoyed more of the same genre of books that I read that way we could swap! However that's not the case so I donate them to those who would appreciate them!
It's hard when no one around you reads the same genre. It's great you're able to donate the books.

It's always great to do something nice and free up shelf space for the books you really want to keep :)
DeleteGlad to see others contributing!

It is hard when those around you don't read the same genre. My family is like that too. I think it's wonderful that you donate the books and give others the chance to read them. Unfortunately I have to admit that I'm a bit of a book hoarder and once I get them I don't like to let them go again. New GFC follower.

It would be a lot easier if they did like the same books but I also understand that everyone is different so you just have to accept it :) As for donating it's ridiculously hard to part with my books but at the end of the day I ask myself will I really ever read it again? & It takes up a lot of space I could have used for books that will be reread throughout the years. It's all a positive thing so I make the sacrifice and feel better for it :P
DeleteBut I love books a lot so I can see how you'd want to keep them which is cool regardless :)
Thanks for following!

The Darkest Powers Trilogy has been on TBR list for a while. I should really start the series—it looks fantastic. And I wish my family enjoyed the same genres as I do, too. It would be so nice to be able to swap.

It was really enjoyable for a YA series :)
DeleteI still attempt to get my family interested in the types of books I read but so far no luck! But maybe one day :P
& Thanks, you're awesome!!
I always wanted to donate books but I live in Uruguay and most of my books are in English so they would be out of place between all the books in Spanish
ReplyDeletethnks for visiting my blog

That's tricky :/ But I'm sure if you chose to donate them those who can speak English would appreciate it! :)
DeleteEither way it's the thought that counts most wouldn't dare give up their books! :P
