Q: Are there any book to movie adaptations where you think the movie is better than the book?
I've only read a portion of Sherlock Holmes but as much as it is a classic I feel the modern British TV adaptation Sherlock tops it, and I'm ridiculously in love with the show. I know, I know, it's not a movie but it is a television adaptation. Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and Martin Freeman's portrayal of John Watson and the series itself is just brilliant.

There's just something about Benedict Cumberbatch...Great choice! :)

You, too. :)
DeleteHopping through. Excellent choice! I'm in love with Sherlock the show. (on the actor front I have trouble deciding who I like more - Benedict Cumberbatch or Andrew Scott). It's gotten me to go back and read Sherlock Holmes. I like the stories but probably like the show more.

Yay I love seeing Sherlock fans! Oh man I loveee Moriarty played by Andrew Scott, he is one of my favorite television villains. Once I seen the show I instantly started reading the books and I like them too but seeing it adapted for TV has altered my perception of the story. I keep reading with the actors voices in my head. I love them both though but definitely enjoy the show better as well.
DeleteThanks for stopping over Alison! I hope you have a fantastic weekend

If I could recommend only one show that everyone should watch it would be Sherlock. It's one of the most entertaining television shows I've ever seen, and I've watched a lot!
