Feature & Follow Friday! (#23)

*Fun blog hop feature hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read*

Q: What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, eBooks, paperback etc?

I prefer reading eBooks on my Kindle when I'm traveling because it's convenient, lightweight, and I can purchase books instantly if I need to. But when I'm home I love to kick-back and read paperbacks. I like the feeling of reaching the last page of a physical book copy. Also, I like viewing the artwork and putting it on my well-read bookshelf—in an age of digital it's still nice to have the real thing around. I still love shopping at bookstores and until that option disappears (hopefully it never does) then I'm a paperback person. Although eBooks are wonderful and are easily accessible they're not always best in my opinion.

  2. I agree. I really like my e-reader when I'm traveling or on my way to school, since it's easy to bring many books with me in once device. But I'll always return to the good old paperback :D

    1. I switch back and forth a lot! I love the convenience of an ereader but paperback/hardcover is my favorite format. Plus with e-copies you don't get to admire the covers, fonts and structure of how the books originally designed. & Yes so good old paperback it is :) & I love having many book options when I'm traveling so it is fantastic for that!!

Thank you Mel for sharing your thoughts :-) I hope you have an exciting weekend!

  3. Yes! The whole instant-access thing is a great aspect of ebooks. I usually prefer to buy paperback too, but never mind reading hardcovers, especially if they're from the library. ;)

    1. I love being able to buy the next book in a series right away! That's perhaps my favorite thing about ereaders. But I like to mix it up and read paperbacks often--most times it'll go for a cheaper price than what they're offering it for via e-copy, so it's great :)

Thanks for following and stopping by Nikki!

  6. Good answer. I hope bookstores and libraries don't ever disappear. I would be crushed! There is just something about walking in and looking around at all the books.
