Waiting on Wednesday! (#24)

~ Waiting on Wednesday (WoW) is a weekly meme post hosted by: Jill from Breaking the Spine that showcases not-yet-released books that I'm eagerly awaiting to read! ~

I'm waiting for:

(After the End, #1)

Release Date: May 6th, 2014
Genre(s): YA Science Fiction/Dystopia

Synopsis:

"She’s searching for answers to her past. They’re hunting her to save their future."

World War III has left the world ravaged by nuclear radiation. A lucky few escaped to the Alaskan wilderness. They've survived for the last thirty years by living off the land, being one with nature, and hiding from whoever else might still be out there.

At least, this is what Juneau has been told her entire life.

When Juneau returns from a hunting trip to discover that everyone in her clan has vanished, she sets off to find them. Leaving the boundaries of their land for the very first time, she learns something horrifying: There never was a war. Cities were never destroyed. The world is intact. Everything was a lie.

Now Juneau is adrift in a modern-day world she never knew existed. But while she's trying to find a way to rescue her friends and family, someone else is looking for her. Someone who knows the extraordinary truth about the secrets of her past.

Why am I waiting?

Like a moth to a flame I'm drawn to end-of-the-world stories, it's my Kryptonite. The only thing is that there isn't really an apocalyptic situation going on, or is there? Already I'm forming a million questions, I'm ever so curious as to why her clan left, why everyone lied about World War III for apparently thirty years, and whose after the girl and mostly why why why! I love the heroine's name Juneau it's ironic considering the Alaskan setting, and I can't wait to see how she adapts to modern day life since she's lived outside of it her whole life. You just know there is bound to be a lot of twists, fighting for survival, and suspense. It looks great, I want it now!
