Blood Debt fantastically combines Centaur mythology with paranormal aspects. I was hesitant to read this book because Centaurs are weird looking creatures that are half human and half horse. So the most surprising thing was to find out that these Centaurs are physically human and they possess special abilities. Also they're gorgeous, strong, and usually wealthy. It was captivating and intriguing to be thrown into a world where these beings exist alongside humans. I loved the whole idea that the women Centaurides must choose Centaurs as their husbands. They have a creative and diversely structured mythical society with rules to follow. I enjoyed all the history thrown in it added such depth. Camille is a great heroine whose strong-willed and equally as stubborn. She's very resistant to the Centaur ways but eventually comes to understand their importance, and it was fun to watch her grow up a little. I can't wait to see her progress in the next novel! Also Drake is hot and loyal so I'm rooting for their relationship to work. Blood Debt is an amazing YA read, but it borders on New Adult, still fantastic though - expect to be wowed.
When Camille's mother passes away she is devastated but right before her mom dies she passes on the information of who Camille's father is and where she can find him. Unable to fathom why her mom finally reveals his identity Camille decides to call him but the most surprising thing is that he actually wants to meet her. She discovers a whole other life she never knew of—one that consists of real family. It's only shortly after meeting her dad and relatives that she realizes something isn't right and they're keeping secrets from her. They tell her the truth about her bloodline that was hidden her entire life and it's shocking. As she starts to adjust to her new life she soon understands the consequences of growing up unaware of who she was always meant to be. Her life is now in jeopardy as it is her punishment to fulfill the Blood Debt her mother owed. Camille has already broken the rules so what's to stop her from breaking more and also getting involved in a forbidden relationship.
This is a short novel full of many surprises, suspenseful intrigue, action, romance, and Centaur mythology. It's a completely unique story that keeps getting better page by page. I enjoyed everything about this, the characters, mysteries, the lore itself, and the romantic development. I was upset when I reached the last page which leaves off at a huge cliffhanger. I had to know what happened next so I bought the next book Centaur Legacy! I hope to see more of the same characters and get some much needed answers. I would recommend this one for anyone who loves compelling stories with mythology and paranormal twists.

I LOVE Starbucks’ White Mocha Latte and Mountain Dew, (but not together). I have a lead foot so I set cruise control when I drive, even in 25 MPH zones. I almost never win when I play Angry Birds, but have my 8 year old close, so he can clear the hard levels for me. I grew up on a farm and am opposed to eating fresh chicken (not opposed to meat - just opposed to any meat that was alive a few hours before lunch). I am a huge fan of the show, Big Bang Theory, on CBS. I have a stray cat that I feed every night and morning but she’s never let me get closer than within 3 feet of her – I keep thinking eventually I’ll wear her down and she’ll let me pet her. I share my life with two fantastic sons, three rotten dogs and a husband that I adore.
