Feature & Follow Friday! (#24)

*Fun blog hop feature hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read*

Q: Today is the US' Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.

The Hunger Games Trilogy! Though The Hunger Games is hardly an original pick it is however, my favorite series about overthrowing the government. It's dark, and realistically gritty with one hell of an uprising and it has awesome symbolism.

The Star-Crossed series by: Rachel Higginson which is YA Fantasy has an epic war going on between a Kingdom and its people. A large group called The Resistance try to give power back to the true heirs of the throne and secure their people's freedom. It's an amazing series that focuses on a girl named Eden who may be able to help win the war that's gone on for far too long. There's a lot of magic and action in it!

    1. I highly recommend that series :) If you love fantasy-adventure it's perfect reading. I've never heard of The Torturer's Daughter but it sounds great!

      Thanks for stopping by Mei!

  6. catching fire... yeah, we went with an unoriginal pick too: the harry potter series. but you can't argue with the epicness of the harry potter and hunger games series.

    1. It was difficult because I know a lot of series with wars in them but it's not the whole theme so I just stuck with what I know and love. Ah! Harry Potter now why didn't I think of that? :P

Thanks Michelle!! I hope you have an awesome weekend, and thanks for stopping here!

  7. Catching Fire was my favorite book in the entire trilogy. :b It was probably because Finnick was in it...

    1. It's my favorite book of the trilogy too! So many people's favs and I'm pretty sure it's mostly because of Finnick ;) He's a funny character not-to-mention he reminds me of Aquaman with his trident!

Thanks for following Krystianna (love your name!) and I hope you have a really fun weekend.

  9. I haven't read the Star Crossed series yet. It sounds like something I'd like though. I wasn't the biggest Hunger Games fan (I know, total shocker), but I appreciate the story. Hope you had a great weekend!

    1. Meredith, The Star-Crossed series is a really entertaining fantasy-based story. Very underrated, yet such a great read! As for the Hunger Games not everyone likes the same books. There are some reads that are popular that even I thought were just okay. You are free to like and dislike whichever books you want :)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely week!
