BEA is nearly here! (Part 1)

Readers it's about that time of the year where I get crazy excited! Why? BEA is nearly upon us. It's an apocalyptic event where you get buried in books, and meet authors you've only dreamed about meeting. It's an overwhelming experience where you have tons of fun, grab the most anticipated ARCS, get books signed, meet & connect with publishers and other bloggers you follow. It's basically book heaven! Every day for the past year I have been counting down the days till BEA would arrive again and now it's just TWO weeks away!! Last year I had such a blast, met some awesome individuals, and had my dreams come true and I'm hoping this year will be even better.

Last year I wrote about my first time at BEA and even included some helpful tips for bloggers who have never been to the Book Expo event before. Below you can find the links that may be of use to you!

2013 BEA TIPS & MY EXPERIENCE:

On a rather important note I wanted to address the status and future of my blog Dear, Restless Reader. Over the last 6 months I have been struggling to maintain my site and produce weekly content. It has been a difficult year to put it mildly. I had such grand plans to expand my site, incorporate new features, give my blog a much needed facelift, and post tons of reviews on many of the newest titles. Did I accomplish that? Unfortunately, I did not. Frankly, I'm very disappointed. BUT do you know what the positive thing in the whole lack of progress is? I can still do it. I've not given up even though things in my life have become infinitely more complicated than they once were when I first started. So, along with a BEA update I am pledging to achieve all that I set out to accomplish before. My passion for books and promoting good reads has not diminished. While I'm attending BEA for what will be my second year now I'm also going to be stepping up my blogging, and looking for ways to improve my site and reaching out to others to help make my site be all that it can. I mean business! More posts will be following regarding how I intend to build and expand my efforts so keep your eye out there may be windows of opportunity that will require the help of my loyal readers.

Now, I'm still working on my BEA schedule (I am such a slacker—endless apologies) but what books are you looking forward to at the show and which authors will you be lining up for at BEA??! Let me know in a comment! I'm hyperventilating over The Beautiful Ashes by: Jeaniene Frost a.k.a. my favorite author!

& If anyone is attending and would like to meet up at any point please let me know! I love talking to other bloggers and I'd be so happy to meet you! Even if you just want to say hi! :) Warning: I'm often hyper, can talk your ear off, and will probably attempt to make jokes. Random fact: I love cats.

  1. I am going this year and have definitely been on pins and needles since May started! It's been 2 years since I went before, but I'm so excited to go again. Hopefully we can meet up when we're there, as meeting fellow bloggers is going to be one of my priorities this year, after getting books that is. I have been working on my schedule since they sent out the first notice that we could. But when I made my Wishlist Wednesday post last week, I'd forgotten to include the autographing in booth list, and so missed so many that I'm looking forward to, like Talon by Julie Kagawa, and a copy of Unhinged by AG Howard.

    1. Aw I hope we can meet up at some point!! One of the things I enjoyed most about going to BEA last year was making a lot of new blogger friends. Of course, getting ARCS is on the agenda as well but I look forward to meeting a lot of different people. I should have been working on my schedule but I've been pretty busy and now it's BEA month and I'm freaking out a little from both excitement and rushing to get everything scheduled at once including what ARCS, authors, and events I want to make it to. WOW I just checked out your Wishlist and I realize that I need to be adding some of those to my try-to-pickup pile! Talon looks fabulous. Glad to see you've got your plans in order and you'll be attending!

Closer to the date if you want to exchange info we can plan a meet if only just to say hello - I know how hectic it can be there but it'd be cool to see a familiar face!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, and I hope you have a very great week!!

    1. I can tell you it's worth saving up for, and I wish you could go!!! I know how it is to live somewhere where there is just no good book events around. I'm very lucky to be able to make it out to BEA this year because money is tight and everything is getting more and more expensive. Hopefully there will be an event in the U.K. that has the authors you're interested in! I'm going to be super happy and crazily overwhelmed. Thank you Alex for the well wishes and I hope you're enjoying the week!!
