My Review: (5/5 stars*)

Mythology is one of those books that you feel unsure of at first but as you read on you'll soon find yourself clinging to every word. There are many unexpected moments, a lot of rich otherworldly history, and a good amount of romance. It has a familiar paranormal theme (demons & angels) but spins it into something completely new. The main heroine is Hope Gentry and though she may not be the kick ass ask questions later kind of girl she certainly provides the humor and sarcastic wit that'll have you entertained. She is funny, resourceful, and best of all blunt. Her personality is just one of the many reasons why I loved this book! I also really liked the other characters Micah and Jonathan. Micah is gorgeous and he is harboring an even bigger secret than Hope. He's the perfect match for her and he has to fight his very nature just so that they can be together - it's very endearing! Jonathan and Hope have this fun chemistry and all their interactions are comical. Each is written distinctly and their personalities are terrific. Even the secondary characters felt like they had a story to tell and I'm hoping in the next books they'll get to share them. This book is YA but some of the content talked about may not be suitable for young-adults, for example, a topic brought up multiple times is that of rape. Although I generally stray from books that address this issue Mythology doesn't by any means condone it or make light of it, so please keep that in mind before choosing to read it. Other than that I thought it was really good, although the subject matter got a little dark at times it had a nice balance with its humorous and light moments.

Hope has always lived her life with a special gift—the ability to glimpse people's darkest secrets. This means obtaining brief visions of people's traumatic events, bad habits, and sometimes even seeing what kind of brand of evil they are. She's accepted her gift but still finds it difficult when she's overloaded with people's pasts. It's her senior year and she is worried about how she will deal with seeing soo many students worst moments. In her head she has a plan to keep to herself but that all changes when she's drawn to a new student named Micah Condie, and as it so happens he can block out her power, and give her peace of mind
at least for a little while. She knows better than to get involved with anyone but she decides to make an exception and that's around the time Hope's world gets unbelievably more complicated. It's made more obvious when a teacher warns her to stay away from Micah but how could she? What's revealed to her is the biggest and darkest secret she could have ever imagined; and somehow fate seems to be calling the shots.

Mythology delivers nonstop entertainment with uniquely interesting paranormal elements. The writing style is distinctive and the words easily come to life. The world-building is fantastic, the characters are wonderfully developed, and the story is superb. Anyone looking for a paranormal-romance novel with an extraordinary plot that has both lovable characters and unexpected twists should give this book a shot. It'll be well worth it!
